The Chief Executive Officer of the Millard Fuller Foundation, Sam Odia, has stated that low-income earners in Nigeria deserve better, with regard to housing.
Odia made this assertion while speaking during an interactive session organised by the Family Homes Funds at the just concluded 15th edition of the Abuja International Housing Show which was held from the 26th to 29th of July 2021 at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.
While narrating how MFF began providing low-priced houses for low-income earners in Nigeria several years back, Odia noted that the organisation has come to the realisation that those at the bottom of the income pyramid are not asking for too much in terms of housing, even though they deserve to be treated better than they are at present.
The Family Homes Funds’ session at the Abuja International Housing Show presented an opportunity for major stakeholders in the Nigeria housing industry to discuss various matters including housing shortage in Nigeria, financing of social housing, Family Homes Fund’s unique strategy and innovation, among others.
The various speakers emphasized the need to consolidate on present efforts to deliver truly affordable homes to Nigerians.
