On behalf of the entire board and management of the Millard Fuller Foundation, I wish to sincerely thank you for your continued support towards our cause of providing affordable homes to Nigerians, a mandate to which we have remained committed since the inception of our organization in 2006.
2021 has been an interesting year for the organization. We have not only had to adjust to new ways of doing things since the arrival of COVID-19, but we have also had to navigate our way around the challenging economic climate in Nigeria to fulfill this mandate of providing affordable houses. Nevertheless, we are glad to announce significant progress as follows:
1. The successful completion of 248 housing units in GrandLuvu3B Estate, funded by our partner, Reall UK.
2. The receiving, for the 4th time, of the award of the most affordable housing project in Nigeria, conferred on us by National Housing Awards, a subsidiary of the Abuja International Housing Show held annually in Nigeria.
3. Our being featured in the new Centre for Affordable Housing Finance in Africa (CAHF) yearbook alongside Casa Real, another Reall partner and affordable housing organization based in Mozambique, as builders of the top two most affordable homes in Africa, both priced under US $10K.
4. Provision of in-house mortgages to the informal sector, many of whom are now resident in our estates and are already making their monthly repayments.
Our desire to ensure that low-income earners have a place to lay their heads after every day’s work has led us into a research project which has subsequently given birth to the ‘Fuller One Million Naira Home’. It is a project that we are excited about, and we are optimistic that the One Million Naira Home holds the potential to revolutionize home ownership across the continent.
We cannot thank you enough for your invaluable support for our chosen mission of putting a roof above every head. While we look forward to greater feats in the coming year, we pray this season brings you good tidings, renewed hope and the fulfillment of your heart’s desires.
Merry Christmas and a Prosperous 2022!
