The CEO of the Millard Fuller Foundation, Sam Odia has stated that it is the desire of the organization to further drive down the cost of its houses. He made this statement during an interactive session at the Nigeria Affordable Housing Finance and Innovation Summit & Expo held at the NAF Conference Centre, Abuja, on the 13th and 14th of November 2019. In his words, “We are passionate about building for the low-income earners. Yes, we are said to build the lowest-priced house in Africa and it is our desire to further drive down the cost of our houses. Everyone deserves to have a home to call their own.”
Organised by NISH Cooperative Housing Limited, the Nigeria Affordable Housing Finance and Innovation Summit & Expo is aimed at deliberating on innovative solutions to combat the rising housing challenge in Nigeria. This year’s event had the Hon. Minister of Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola ably represented, amongst other notable individuals.
It will be recalled that the highly respected Centre for Affordable Housing Finance in Africa (CAHF) has found houses built by the Millard Fuller Foundation to be the lowest-priced homes by a private sector developer in Africa. This was contained in an announcement by the Centre in a publication on Monday, 4th November 2019.
